Union VS Non-Union,
Union Dues
As a Union Member your Total Package is : $45.09 per hour
Commercial Union base rate: $33.46
Vacation Pay (10%): $3.35Employer Contributions
Health and Welfare: $2.93
Pension: $4.45
Training: $0.90Dues at Local Union 1386 are as follows:
Membership Dues: $5 per week ($20.00 per month max)
Working dues: $46.84 (3.5% of taxable wages)Total Weekly Union Dues: $51.84
At 40 Hours per week
Gross Earnings: $1803.60 (per week)
Minus Union Dues: $51.84= $1751.76 per week you earn in wages and benefits as a Union member
Non-Union Dues
As a Non-Union Carpenter:
Average per hour commercial scale: $27.00
Vacation Pay included in hourly pay: $1.08No Health Insurance or Pension Plan
At 40 hours per week
Gross Earnings: $1123.20 (per week)
NON-UNION DUES:
Union Earnings: $1751.76 (per week)
Minus Non-Union Wages: $1123.20 (per week)=$628.56 Non-Union Dues per week
YOU PAY:
